Caring for Our Veterans

The recent bipartisan effort to expand veterans’ access to long term and post-acute care services is a positive step in properly caring for our aging veterans who sacrificed so much for our country.

Under the proposed legislation, services that would be covered as extended care include nursing center care, geriatric evaluation, domiciliary services, adult day health care, respite care, palliative care, hospice care, and home health care when they are “non-institutional alternatives to nursing home care.”

Many Rehabilitation and Nursing facilities have special programs in place to enhance the wellbeing of their veterans. One case in point is The Voorhees Care & Rehabilitation Center, a 5-Star CMS certified, Veteran Administration-contracted facility in Voorhees, New Jersey.
