New Senior Living Community Achieves Milestone
The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT expected to open in early 2016
The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT, a planned not-for-profit continuing care retirement community under construction in Ellicott City, announced today that 90 percent of the residences are reserved. The senior living community sponsored and operated by Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster is expected to open its doors in early 2016 at or near full occupancy.
“After almost a decade of planning and hard work, The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT and Carroll Lutheran Village teams are excited to reach this milestone, and contribute to the Howard County community and economic growth,” said President & CEO Geary Milliken.
Harkins Builders in Marriottsville is the general contractor for the site work, apartment buildings, care center and common areas. Williamsburg Homes in Columbia is constructing the freestanding homes in the community. To date, four apartment buildings, the community center and health care center are under roof, and foundation work has begun for the stand-alone homes.
The community will feature 241 apartments and single-family and duplex homes, and a state-of-the-art care center designed to evoke the sense of neighborhood. The care center will include 20 suites for assisted living and 12 skilled nursing beds.
As the first continuing care retirement community to be built in Howard County since 1990, The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT will offer adults 60 years or better services that will allow them to transition seamlessly from independent living to in-home care, assisted living or skilled nursing.
Future residents of The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT will also be able to utilize the community’s exclusive wellness program Flourish. This holistic wellness initiative provides programming that focuses on the six dimensions of wellness – physical, social, spiritual, vocational, emotional and intellectual – to enable residents to live an active and multi-dimensional life.
