People on the Move – DR. AND MRS. HARMEET SINGH OPEN A NEW DOOR IN HOME HEALTH CARE
Leesburg, Virginia June 3, 2015. Acti-Kare Responsive In-Home Care Agency comes to Fairfax and Loudoun Counties. Acti-Kare will fill a niche in the home health care industry by providing services that are otherwise overlooked by other agencies. Acti-Kare will not only provide care to the individual but also care for their home and pet. Acti-Kare will also provide care to people with disabilities, i.e., Autism and Cerebral Palsy.
Dr. Singh is a renowned neurologist serving Loudoun County since January 2000. His knowledge and experience is in the treatment of disorders of the nervous system such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, Seizures, Multiple Sclerosis, Migraine Headaches and Stroke.
While in practice, Dr. Singh has seen that one of the most difficult times in a person’s life is when they start to lose their independence and eventually have to leave the home where they have lived for many years. Even minor changes in a person’s life can lead to this loss of independence and the ability to safely live at home. As Mrs. Singh’s father got older and his health deteriorated, he needed more assistance with his daily activities. Mrs. Singh cared for her father for almost four years in his home before he passed away. He was able to spend the last years at home with the family instead of in an assisted living or nursing home facility.
With this background, Dr. and Mrs. Singh felt they needed to do something to help individuals, in similar circumstances, in the community. Therefore, Acti-Kare Responsive In-Home Healthcare opened its doors in May 2015. Individuals can now stay at home as long as possible, and maintain their independence.
“When you can’t be with your loved one…we can.”
